The Minnesota Twins’ star shortstop Carlos Correa is as tough as they come. After going through a long off-season of negotiations, popularly termed ‘the Carlos Correa saga’, the 28-year-old is back with the Twins. For a while there, Correa was going to play for the San Francisco Giants. Then after a failed deal, he seemed to be joining the New York Mets. But reported concerns over his physical ultimately led both teams to drop him. Now that he’s back in Minnesota, Correa was recently up against the other New York team, the Yankees, whose fans have had a long-held grudge against the shortstop.

One of the main reasons so many teams wanted to get their hands on Correa last off-season was his raw talent. He has beaten the Yankees with one team or another repeatedly over the years and naturally, the Bronx doesn’t like him. In fact, they booed him in the stadium at their last game but Correa had a perfect response to the situation.

Carlos Correa thrives under the boos of Yankee fans

While some people crumble under pressure, some thrive in it. Correa is one of the latter and just when it seems like the fans could get to him, he proves everyone wrong. Already a good player, he gave an even better performance when he had to hear fans chanting ‘cheater’ or booing him in the stadium.

According to Twins reporter Do-Hyoung Park, Correa remains unfazed by the situation. In fact, he loves it. “The boos, for me, are just like putting gasoline in your Ferrari. I love it,” the shortstop said.

Shocking Carlos Correa Health Revelation Pops Up Following $200 Million Minnesota Twins Deal

What a way to silence fans! It just goes to show that almost nothing bothers the two-time All-Star, whose hatred against the Yankee fans doesn’t seem to be mutual. Bronx fans have good reason to dislike the shortstop, who was instrumental in taking the Houston Astros to the 2017 World Series. In doing so, he of course took the chance away from the Pinstripes, whom the Astros beat in the ALCS. But Correa takes it all in good spirits!
