Who will be the American League MVP between Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani is a debate that will not last until one of them does not win it. Judge for the Pinstripes and Ohtani for the Angels have been equally good in the ballparks.

Unlike Ohtani, Judge is not a two-way player. But his numbers from the plate are enough to tell the dominating season he is having this year. While there are at least 30 games to play for the Yanks this season, Judge has already hit 54 home runs.

When talking about Shohei Ohtani, he is one of a kind. There has not been a two-way player as good as Ohtani in the history of the game. Be it from the mound or the plate, the Angles’ phenom has been the most impressive player over the last two years. But has Ohtani done enough to win the AL MVP over Aaron Judge?

Legendary MLB announcer Bob Costas gives the reason Aaron Judge should be the MVP over Ohtani

It is not that Shohei Ohtani is having a poor season compared to Aaron Judge. But when it comes down to contribution in wins, Judge is slightly ahead of the Angels star. While talking to Rich Eisen, Bob Costas declared the Yankees slugger as the favorite for the AL MVP.

“Given the fact that Judge is having a historic season of his own, if the term MVP is going to mean anything at all, then Judge is this year’s MVP. But unless he gets hurt, Ohtani will probably add additional MVPs to the one he won last year.”
