And he did exactly that at Japan’s opening game against China in the ongoing World Baseball Classic. As he donned the Japanese colors and went out to the ballpark, fans rose from their seats to get a glimpse of the sensation and roared out his name. The arena reverberated with their screams. 

The Tokyo dome was where the game was held, and Ohtani sure gave a brilliant sho to the crowds and left them and the players alike awestruck in his wake. And after defending his home turf with pride with the help of his teammates, Ohtani has given a post-game update alongside a fellow player, Takuya Kai, on his Instagram.

Now that the dust has settled and the crowd’s cheers have faded away, Shohei Ohtani has shared a picture where he looks like he’s basking in the afterglow of victory alongside his fellow player, Takuya Kai. With broad smiles and a content look on the duo’s faces, they posed for a shot that the two-way phenom uploaded to his Instagram feed with the translated caption, “Thank you Kai-san! See you tomorrow everyone!!” Fans who can’t have enough of the player even after witnessing the greatness he put out on the field today were thrilled upon seeing the picture. 

Looking ahead, the Japan team is set to face off against South Korea, who recently played against the Australian team. Although South Korea didn’t come out victorious in their last game, the upcoming match will be a thrilling face-off between the two teams.
