The ongoing rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees is not one to be underestimated. There have been sparks kindling with nail-biting games, especially in this week’s doubleheader for the AL East series. This back-and-forth battle is for a rather infamous position.

Be it the Yankees faithful or the Red Sox Nation, both have their reasons to be disappointed. On the upside of this fight over the penultimate position, there was celebration on Friday. As the final game ensued against the BoSox, fans could not keep their calm when the Yankees emerged victorious.

Based on how the previous games went, it was quite clear that the Yankees were leading in Fenway Park. Be it Aaron Judge’s grand slam or Oswald Peraza’s homers, it all pointed to them not being at the bottom. Though for a not-so-sought-after place, the Yankees’ victory means a lot to their passionate fans.

Some fans went on a mocking spree over Boston who have had quite a difficulty dealing with their game and front office situation. One said, “sorry not sorry“.

As creative as fans could get, they made a meme of the news of Boston’s 5th position.

Some fans instilled more hope in the Yankees hoping they make it to the third position.
