The Boston Red Sox are going through a tough phase in the 2022 season. No doubt about that. But the Red Sox fans had a game to remember on Friday. Notably, the Red Sox legend Jonny Gomes snagged an unbelievable grand slam from the Green Monster of the Fenway Park.

After a rough start to the regular season, the Red Sox are finally coming to the winning track. With their recent win over the Seattle Mariners, the Alex Cora-led team won their third consecutive series this season.

After this, baseball fans went berserk on the internet and showered praise on Jonny Gomes for his heroics from the stand.

Taking to Twitter, one fan expressed his love for Gomes. He said he does not like the Red Sox, but Gomes is the best. Another fan claimed Jonny Gomes to be the first-ever player to hit over the Green Monster and catch a home run from the Green Monster.

Pete Blackburn of Bally Sports said that Gomes is still making plays, while Steve Perrault of the Audacy Sports called him a maniac.
