The 37 year old Josh Donaldson met his fate with the New York Yankees as they released him after less than 2 seasons. Acquired by the Milwaukee Brewers on August 31st, he debuted turning tables. What changed since he stripped out the pinstripes?

Josh Donaldson’s Homer Stands Strong Against The Marlins

The Milwaukee Brewers added Josh Donaldson to their Major League roster as they announced on Monday. His performance on the diamond against the Miami Marlins was nothing short of wondrous which is quite contrary to how he appeared as a Yankee. Toward the end of the fourth inning, when the game tied at 1-1, Donaldson dropped some jaws.

He swung the bat and the ball went hurling over the outfield fence giving the Brewers a lead by hitting his first homerun as a Brewer. Donaldson put Milwaukee up 2-1 with his 11th homer of the season. The homer was a massive 426-foot solo shot to left with one out in the 4th off Edward Cabrera.

Indicating a drastic difference to when he was a Yankee, fans went bonkers on social media. While Brewers fans celebrated, some ridiculed the Yankees. Fan reactions ranged from blaming the New York Yankees as a team for Donaldson’s poor performance to calling his home run a fluke.

Fans, after Josh’s display of consistent poor performance, don’t seem to find his home run a credible one. They questioned his once-upon-a-time MVP status. 

Some on the other hand felt hopeful for his growth, now that he is out of the Yankees. A fan said, “He’s gonna do great things”.

The Brewers fans heartily celebrated with good wishes for the newcomer and cheering the #BrewCrew.

Fans cannot seem to ignore how Donaldson was a castaway as a Yankee but catapulted to fame as a bearded Brewer. One fan could not keep calm. The comment said, “suddenly he isn’t garbage?”

As a matter of fact, Donaldson does seem to be prepping hard to solidify his place among the Brewers. The Milwaukee Brewers aim for an MLB postseason berth Josh’s optimistic start as a Brewer has set the stage for a successful collaboration.
