Whether playing in the minor leagues or the major leagues, baseball allows players to improve their skills in an attempt to outperform their opponents. Sometimes, though, it all boils down to a single player who can act swiftly and do something out of the box. However, the real deal occurs when that player enters the major leagues. This is precisely what happened to a former Cy Young winner who is hoping to return after a successful stint abroad. Guessed the name? We are talking about Trevor Bauer, the former Cincinnati Reds star.
During his most recent appearance at the Yokohama stadium on Saturday, Bauer struck out seven batters and pushed for six hits, all of which were singles. He also recorded two walks during the 122-pitch game. With the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, the former pitcher is blazing, and MLB insider Dan Clark has heaped praise on him.
“What more does Trevor Bauer have to prove?” Dan Clark of the Big Leagues Dily said, expressing his concern over why Bauer hasn’t been called back despite such solid numbers. Indeed, Bauer’s 222 Major League appearances for the Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, and Cleveland Indians included an 83-69 record and a 3.79 ERA. With a 1297.2 IP, 1416 strikeouts and 1.24 WHIP, it’s hard to imagine his absence in MLB.

Despite making six starts this season, Bauer’s ERA is 2.70. Now that he has pitched 17 innings, given up just one run, eight hits, five walks, and 17 strikeouts, he is on fire. Additionally, as demonstrated by Bauer’s performance, which speaks for itself, maybe he is looking for another opportunity to play in the major league, right?
A majority of teams in MLB, including the Atlanta Braves, Guardians, Rockies, Marlins and Orioles, have ERAs above 4.50. It clearly indicates the need for quality pitchers in the lineup. But even with these remarkable numbers, Bauer is still unsigned and hopes of playing on baseball’s biggest stage are gradually dwindling for him.
But not many of us are aware of the controversies Trevor Bauer was involved in, which led to his departure from Major League Baseball.

The incident that took away everything from Trevor Bauer
Even though 34-year-old Trevor Bauer is still in good shape and has been performing well, do you know why he was expelled from Major League Baseball? Well, the incident occurred long back on July 2, 2021, when a San Diego woman accused Trevor Bauer of se—- assault. Not only did the news break out like a bushfire, but it also drew severe criticism against him, prompting the MLB to conduct a thorough investigation, which eventually led to his suspension from the MLB. However, Dan Clark made a recent post of the woman being arrested for falsely accusing Bauer in the matter.
As stated by the woman, Bauer tried to physically assault her in their two encounters in the spring of 2021. Although the woman was deprived of a permanent restraining order in Los Angeles Superior Court, the district attorney denied filing any criminal charges against Bauer. However, following cross-checks, Bauer was ultimately given a 324-game suspension in April 2022, as MLB has the power to punish the guilty.
Although Bauer sued the woman for defamation, the woman, named Lindsey Hill, countered and received $300,000 as a penalty. Bauer had to occasionally defend his integrity and reputation because the incident was still affecting him. Despite his desire to stay focused on his work, winning games, and satisfying fans, it is unlikely that he will return to Major League Baseball anytime soon.
