The Oakland Athletics have regularly ranked at the bottom with respect to payroll. In addition to that, evidently, their performance has been subpar too, with 50-112 this season, one of the worst record in baseball to date. When so many problems are picked, especially by players, doesn’t it all boil down to the team ownership?

When the ball is in the owner’s court, one expects action. However, this former A’s pitcher who recently announced his retirement does not feel happy about the $2.5 Billion owner. His frustration was so profound that it compelled him to resonate with A’s fandom, “Sell the team, dude”.

With that said, Trevor May, the former A’s player, spoke at length in another clip that @AthleticsRants posted on Twitter. The ex-baseballer went on to narrate an intrinsic tale of how there were little things that were imperfect in the team. The ex-pitcher recalled, “When I get to the bullpen I have my seat, you know, like everyone’s kinda got their seats and everyone’s already in there when I get there. And there is this like chair from a high school that was broke as shit. Unsittable. And it kept appearing in like every day, that chair was there. I threw it in the trash next day, it’s like ground hogs’ day, it’s there. And I literally go, ‘can i get a chair that is.. works’? And they’re like, ‘There are no other chairs‘”. Not only did the team take no action on his concern but also turned it into a practical joke.

May, 34, added that this chair incident became a prank. Folks from the org, no matter where the chair was, would find it and place it where May would sit. While this would rile him up, he would have to throw it out and go steal someone else’s chair. Given this, it highlights the embarrassment Trevor went through during his time in Oakland. It’s a good thing that now there’s attention being drawn to these issues that have gone under the radar for a long time now. Isn’t John Fisher answerable to these inconveniences?

Well, as these tidbits see the light of the day, it gets more and more evident as to why Fisher is hated. The common emotion that the MLB world exhibits toward him has not been subtle. Of late, Fisher has been urged to sell the team by Athletics’ supporters. They even organized a reverse boycott during the season with the slogan “Sell the team!“. Moreover, this calls for a recap of the Athletics star’s outburst when he announced his retirement.
