The National League postseason has pleasantly surprised the entire realm of baseball. What began with the Padres beating the Mets in the wild-card round, stretches to San Diego Padres, conquering past MLB toppers, Los Angeles Dodgers. And most recently, Philadelphia Phillies beating the reigning World Champions, Atlanta Braves 3-1.

On entering the Championship Series, wishes flew out for the Phillies from all across the States. Along with a special wish that visited the Phillies from the White House, in Washington DC. Not figuratively, as Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States, was watching the fourth NLDS game on her way to Orlando.

How did fans react to FLOTUS’ special wish for the Phillies?

Over the years, Jill Biden has attended multiple Phillies games. Correspondingly, FLOTUS was born and brought up in Willow Grove, a suburb of Philadelphia, which explained her deep-rooted affiliation with the Phils.

Her first upload reached Twitter towards the beginning of the game. While flying to Orlando, FLOTUS uploaded a picture from the flight where she is visibly watching the game. She said, “You’ve got this, @Phillies — I’m watching the game on my way to Orlando!”

After the Phillies comfortably beat the reigning champions 8-3, at the Citizens Bank Park, Jill Biden retweeted a Phillies post and said, “YES! This team, this city — we’ve got something special. Onward to the NLCS.”

Notably, Philadelphia Phillies will now play San Diego Padres in the National League Championship Series, which starts on October 18.

Philadelphia Phillies narrowly crossed the Milwaukee Brewers in the concluding piece of the regular season. Following that narrow escape, they managed to clean sweep St. Louis Cardinals in the wild-card round. Now, they have dominated the Braves and successfully reached the National League Championship Series.
