The Mets are one of the MLB teams which have previously shared their openness to signing Shohei Ohtani. Adding to the same, Journalist Héctor Gómez, quoting Bob Porter, shared an update. It read, “Potential Shohei Ohtani trade.” 

According to Gomez, the Mets plan to trade their three prospects for the deal! This list includes the Met’s number 1 prospect, Kevin Parada, third baseman Brett Baty, and others. In reverse, they will sign Ohtani, third baseman Anthony Rendon, and two more players.

The news is shocking for many baseball fans, who have criticized the move to trade players like Prada. Playing for the Brooklyn Cyclones, the 21-year-old has played crucial innings and is averaging 0.268 at an OPS of 0.790.
