The Blue Boy’s school sweetheart was a college athlete herself. She played basketball growing up. Initially, they met at John Overton High School in Nashville and over a period of time continued their relationship along with their education at Tennessee University. While everyone knows Betts as the sports guy, isn’t it awesome to know that Hammonds played hoops.

While Brianna has not made any of her professional achievements public, it’s evident that she prioritizes supporting Mookie. After welcoming their daughter in 2018, they got engaged and married a few years later. Brianna plays a vital role as a supportive partner and caring homemaker for their family.

How long she has been with Mookie Betts: Into their relationship timeline

The couple have been together since they were teenagers. In fact, Betts detailed it better. He told PEOPLE, “Brianna has been by my side since we were teenagers. Together we’ve grown mentally, physically and spiritually. She is my best friend, mother of my child, my lover and my soon-to-be wife.” 

The couple met in middle school when Brianna was in the 7th grade and Mookie was in the 8th. Their story is quite interesting. It was not Brianna who initially fell for the stunning Dodger. This is what Hammond said, “One of my best friends who passed away thought [Mookie] was cute and I said, ‘Girl go talk to him!’ She was too scared to talk to him, so I told him, ‘My girlfriend likes you. Will you talk to her?’ …And he kept saying no.” Little did she know that he denied speaking to another girl since he always thought Brianna was cute. 

Nevertheless, Mookie being Mookie, was primarily interested in sports and video games. But over time, he mustered up the courage to ask her out. It took two tries for the couple to finally get together. In January 2021, Betts arranged a fictitious awards dinner in Nashville with 40 close family and friends. It was then that he proposed to his longtime girlfriend with a seven-carat radiant-cut diamond. As of today, Brianna is the mother of his two children. 

Just a few weeks after Betts bagged his first World Series, Hammonds gave birth to their first child – Kynlee Ivory Betts. She made the announcement on Instagram and captioned the post, “Never knew what unconditional love meant or how it felt until I met this little princess,” Betts captioned his post. “Nov 6th 2018 is a day I’ll never forget❤️.” 

Then a while later, on April 18, 2023, Kaj Lynn Betts was born. The couple’s second child. This post was captioned, “April 18! GOD blessed us with our beautiful baby boy!” Not only do they have a really fulfilling life outside the world of sport, they complement each other really well. Brianna’s presence in Mookie’s life has affected him and even propelled him to newer heights. Here’s how.

As per SportsNet LA, Betts credits his wife for being the force behind this charitable work. He even elaborated on the honor and excitement that comes with bowling for a cause. 

His words were as genuine as they were purposeful. With Brianna by his side, he felt motivated to take this step and he rightly acknowledged this in his words. He mentioned, “This is really my wife’s thing and she kind of invited me. It’s good what she’s doing with the 50/50 Foundation. It’s awesome. All the money she’s raised, all the kids that she’s helped, all the smiles she’s put on peoples’ faces, that means so much to me.”

He further threw some light on his bowling event and that it means the world to him. The 31-year-old showed gratitude mentioning how blessed he and his family are to have people come to support it.
