The announcer also shared his thoughts about the incident. Appreciating the physical strength of the player, said, “Oh, oh, that hit the bat if it’s in play. Or did it hit Stanton, and he’s just made of steel? But we don’t see that very often where the ball that hits the batter goes that far, right? And the umpires are discussing it.” After a discussion, the umpires called it a hit batsman, but Stanton was unpleased over the incident and showed his displeasure while moving to the base.
