Deion ?Prime Time? Sanders may coach football teams to SWAC victories right now, but the Eddie Robinson Award winner has an extensive history of showing his skills off the diamond. The sensation that has turned around Colorado Boulder’s football scene was once a pinstriper with the New York Yankees. Not to mention, he represented the Atlanta Braves in a World Series during the ?90s. What couldn’t he do?

Sanders’ quest for victory bling?a World Series Championship ring!

1989 marked Prime Time’s MLB debut with the Yankees. Sanders secured his stay on the team by bagging two homers and stealing a base during his first 14 games. He then went on to play for the Braves until 1994, following which he had a short stay with the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Blue Giants. After a brief 2-year break, he got back into the scene in ?97 to play with the Reds, rejoining them again in 2001. That season, he became the first player in MLB?s history to score a homer and a stolen base on their opening day.

Many may not know about an interesting stint that happened during his 1992 World Series game for the Braves. Sanders made the daring decision to play for both the NLCS and NFL games that were happening on the same day. Unfortunately, a missed flight kept him from achieving it. And the Braves ultimately lost the trophy.

Sanders’ form on the diamond was still impeccable, though. He scored five SBs, eight hits, an RBI, and a homer each that day. The retired slugger continued appearing for the Braves and the Giants in the ?93 and ?95 NLCS, respectively. But his time in baseball ended soon after as he wasn?t seen in another league after his ?97 appearance with the Reds.

?My Precioussss!?

With a 14-year-old career on the football field, eight Pro Bowl selections and two Super Bowl wins to his name, it was no wonder that Sanders would win an NFL Championship Ring or two! Baseball losses didn?t discourage Coach Prime from finally winning two rings in the other sport he had mastered. His consecutive wins of two Super Bowl rings in ?94 with the San Francisco 49ers and ?95 with the Dallas Cowboys proved to the world that Deion ?Prime Time? Sanders will never be past his prime in the game!
