With a good number of bantamweight fighters in contention for the title shot, the title picture at 135 is heating up. In the main event at UFC Vegas 27, former champion Cody Garbrandt took on Rob Font in the hope of working his way back up to a title shot.

No Love’ went on a three-fight skid after winning the belt. Subsequently, he finished Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250 to send a statement of intent to the division. Meanwhile, Font was looking to send a statement of his own with a win over a former champion.

The first round was pretty evenly matched for both men as they landed a few good shots and got reads on their opponent. However, Garbrandt secured multiple takedowns towards the end of round one.
