As a fighter, staying active is extremely important. Being out of the game for a long time can affect areas such as timing and stamina, among other things. Jon Jones last fought in February 2020, defending his belt against Dominick Reyes. Since then, he has been out of the fight game, and it appears as though we will not see him anytime soon either.
Due to his differences with the UFC regarding pay, ‘Bones’ finds himself out of action. He has used this time to bulk up and put on more weight as he prepares to face the biggest most dangerous men in the UFC.

He followed that up with another tweet that said, “Honestly I feel like the only people that it benefits, me jumping in their early are the other heavy weights. The way I’m training, I’m gonna be a real problem this time next year. I’m comfortable enough to wait and that’s exactly what I’ll do”

The most recent example was his fight against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232. ‘Bones’ was out of action for almost a year and a half. He came back to take on arguably his biggest test to date and stopped him in style in round three.
