The career of an MMA fighter is often short-lived, with most fighters retiring in their 30s. However, despite retiring from the sport, most fighters want to continue to be involved due to the love for the sport. Khabib Nurmagomedov is the most recent example of a former fighter turning into a coach and is something former middleweight champion Michael Bisping wants to emulate.
‘The Count’ frequently appears as an analyst or a play-by-play commentator covering UFC events on ESPN. He also has his own podcast where he discusses the fight game. Bisping is in the top five for most wins and appearances in the UFC and has a wealth of experience he can pass on to up-and-coming fighters.

Michael Bisping describes coaching as a ‘selfless Job’
In a recent interview, Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie asked Bisping if he would consider coaching. ‘The Count’ replied, “Yeah, no absolutely. The former champion continued, “I will take some time and find myself a protege or two and take them under my wing and pass on my knowledge, you know. Because believe it or not, I am not that stupid, I have learned some things about the sport over the years and I would like to pass that on. But right now, like I say, I am still doing me…. It wouldn’t be fair to the fighter or fighters in question for me to do that.”
