‘Send Me The Date’- Daniel Cormier Responds To Max Holloway Callout
Follow Us
Max Holloway and Daniel Cormier have shared a close relationship for years. While ‘DC’ is much older than Holloway, they were contemporaries as UFC Champions. Holloway served as the featherweight champion while ‘DC’ was on his reigns as light heavyweight and heavyweight champion.
However, Holloway has had a running joke of ‘calling out’ Cormier for fights. He has done this in interviews and post-fight situations. But, it has always been in good spirit. While Max may be taller than DC, DC fought in a weight class 120-pounds ahead of Max, so an actual fight is obviously not going to happen.
This is it, I’ve had enough. Me vs @BlessedMMA send me the date and location Holloway. I’m already 1-0 against you since I won the madden game. 😊 https://t.co/z7VQVyujuJ

It seems that they will settle this beef in some sort of video game contest. Holloway is a very active gamer and possibly may have the edge on DC. From what we have seen from these two, an eventual matchup of any sort will definitely be put out there on social media for everyone to enjoy. So, all anyone can do is sit tight until they actually do something about this.

Though Max Holloway may be picking up video game fight bookings against Daniel Cormier, there is a genuine question around what he will do next in the featherweight division. He fought last month and absolutely decimated Calvin Kattar, proving he needs high-quality opponents to have a competitive outing.
Holloway can’t just rematch Alexander Volkanovski after losing two fights to the champion. At the same time, ‘The Great’ is facing a former Holloway’s foe in Brian Ortega in a defense of his featherweight title at UFC 260. ‘Blessed’ is on the path for the belt but has also spoken about possibly moving up to lightweight, eventually.

The last time we saw Max at lightweight, he was getting beaten by Dustin Poirier in an interim title fight. While Max looked like he couldn’t compete at the weight class, some genuine training for that weight would definitely improve his success rate at 155. For now, it seems that Holloway will wait to see who wins between Volkanovski and Ortega and make his decision accordingly.
