It’s been long since Chelsea had a natural successor to John terry, and Jose Mourinho believes that the 21-year-old Centre-Back could be the one.

Despite Everton’s claim that the player is not for sale, Mourinho has made clear that he will not stop bidding for the youngster. Everton’s Boss Martinez, however, has stated publicly that the player is not for sale.

Chelsea had submitted a  £20 million offer for Jones that eventually got rejected.

Blues Boss who is on a pre season tour with his team in Canada said:

“At the moment Everton say, ‘We don’t accept this bid’. They don’t say, ‘We don’t accept any bid.’

“We made a bid, we can make it – it’s an open market until 1 September. We didn’t make an offer on 2 September or in March, or two days before we play against Everton. We are making the bid in the period we have to make it, which is the open market.

“If one day Roberto, or the chairman, come and say: ‘He’s not for sale, we don’t accept any bid’, [then it’s] game over. So during this process, it’s clear.

“We don’t deny we made a bid for Stones. It means we are trying to buy.”

Martinez is however furious about the way Jones is being chased publicly by Chelsea. In a press conference in Singapore he said:

“Another football club is making such a statement so openly and I don’t think that is they way we would do it at Everton. We wouldn’t speak about a player that is at another club.”

“But there is no issue from our point of view. John Stones is an Everton player, full stop.”

“We are not a selling club in that respect. There is nothing to speak to John about. I always speak with the players, but there is nothing to comment about.”

Mourinho wants to get in Jones to strengthen the defence for the next decade. Chelsea Boss believes that Jones will be a great addition to the team and feels that he’ll play well along the talented defender Kurt Zouma.
