LONDON (Reuters) – Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been a named a respondent in the legal action being brought against the club by their former team doctor Eva Carneiro for constructive dismissal, sources close to the case said on Monday. Papers have been served for a preliminary hearing date, which has not been disclosed, and the Premier League champions have 28 days to file a response. Chelsea’s Portuguese manager was angry when Carneiro ran on to the pitch to treat midfielder Eden Hazard during the opening match of the season against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea were already down to 10 men after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was sent off and, with Hazard having to leave the pitch after treatment, they were temporarily left with nine players. Mourinho called Carneiro “impulsive and naive” and removed her from first-team duties. Carneiro has since left the west London club. Her lawyers, and Chelsea, declined to comment. Most recently, they won the UEFA Champions League under the leadership of manager Thomas Tuchel. They beat the Premier League champions Manchester City 1-0 in the final as Kai Havertz took the Blues to the promised land.

<h2><strong>Premier League 2021/22</strong></h2>
The 30<sup>th</sup> season of the top flight professional English football, Premier League 2021/22 will take place from August 13 2021 to May 17 2022. After a not-so-thrilling title race last season against Manchester United, Manchester City emerged victorious for the Premier League title. The 2021/22 edition of the tournament is set to bring an equal amount of excitement, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United all in the mix for the title.

Comprising of four divisions until 1991, the top division of English football split up and all the teams in the top division, after multiple discussions with the football authorities and television broadcasters, formed the Premier League in 1992.

The competition format remained the same, with three clubs relegated and three clubs promoted every season, and the top four clubs in the Premier League would qualify for the Champions League.

The main reason for the change in approach was to bring in more money into the game. The first broadcast rights for the Premier League was to be won at ?304?million over five years by Sky UK. The Premier League is the most-watched sports league in the world, broadcast in 212 territories to 643?million homes and a potential TV audience of 4.7?billion people.
