British player Murray, the champion in 2013 and 2016, was expected to make a comeback this month. He was expected to appear at the Libema Open grass-court event in Holland. But?reports have emerged that the 31-year-old has delayed his return.

Murray underwent a hip surgery in January and was missing in action for a while. Despite being in a position to miss the Dutch event, he still hopes to play in Wimbledon.

He said: ?I am not quite ready to return. I am still aiming to play in the coming weeks, but I want to be 100% when I do return. It is with regret that I won?t be ready to play in s?Hertogenbosch. I was excited to play there for the first time.?

Murray is currently in a race against time to be fit.?In an interview with Sky sports, he said that his recovery has been ?very slow?.

Meanwhile, Serbian star Novak Djokovic is also doubtful about making an appearance at this year?s Wimbledon championships. The Former world number 1 suffered a shock quarter-final defeat at the French Open yesterday against world?No.72?Marco Cecchinato.

Speaking after his defeat in Paris, the three-time Wimbledon winner spoke on whether he will play on grass this year.

He replied: ?I don?t know. I don?t know what I?m going to do. I just came from the court. Sorry, guys, I can?t give you that answer. I cannot give you any answer. I?m just not thinking about tennis at the moment.?

Meanwhile, the French Open rages on as only one of the Big 4 remains in the hunt, Rafael Nadal.
