17 time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal is reportedly unhappy about his plans to get married being leaked in the media.

The news broke yesterday when Spanish magazine ‘Hola’ revealed that the 32 year old would be getting married to his partner Maria Francisca Perello.

After 14 of years of dating they had announced that Nadal had proposed at last year’s Rome masters and are set to tie the knot this autumn in Mallorca.

However it seems that Nadal is not best pleased that the news has been leaked in the Spanish media as he doesn’t recall revealing it to anyone from the magazine.

Speaking to ‘Diario De Mallorca’ the Australian Open finalist revealed that the unveiling of the news has bothered him, “I’m not going to tell anything, it has bothered me a lot,” he told the local newspaper.

“I never report any of this, I’m not going to do it now. You want to ask me about the wedding, right? I understand that you do your job, but I will not say anything,” Nadal said as he hurried back to his home in Porto Cristo.

The former world number one has always seen himself as a very private person so the news that his wedding plans have been unveiled will not have been ideal for him.

As the announcement continues to make waves through out the media, the Spaniard is set to continue his preparation for his return to the ATP tour next month when he plays the Mexican Open in late February.

Next month’s tournament will be an opportunity for Nadal to build on his great start to the 2019 season where he reached the Australian Open final.

These matches will be in preparation as the World number 2 looks to win a 12th Roland Garros title in Paris in June.
