After retiring from Formula 1 at the end of the last season, Kimi Raikkonen had a brief run in the NASCAR Cup Series this time around. But that time had to come to an end, as he returned to his family to enjoy life after retirement. Clearly, the Finn misses it, as he shared a wholesome moment with his son, with a mystery fuel involved.

The former F1 driver recently posted on his Instagram story, enjoying his time off from racing with his family, outdoors with his son. And just like any father, he’s giving his thirsty son some water. Clearly, nothing odd about it. But the interesting this is the water bottle that was used.

Well, it wasn’t exactly a water bottle. The 2007 World Champion was giving his son water from a water bottle that looks far too much like a fuel can. Especially like the ones we see come out when a car comes into the pit lane to get their juice for the rest of the race.

Funny enough, his wife, Minttu Raikkonen, posted it on her story with a funny caption saying, “Refueling NASCAR style”. Turns out we’re not the only ones who saw the uncanny resemblance to a Stock Car being refueled in the pit lane.

How did Kimi Raikkonen feel racing in NASCAR?

The Watkins Glen was Kimi’s first taste of a Cup Series race, and he got that at a road course of all things. And how did it feel to be racing in stock cars? Well, Raikkonen answered that at a media conference.

He said, “It’s always exciting when you race against people that you haven’t raced against before. They’re very professional. The rules are slightly different than what I’m used to, but I’m happy to be here and meet the guys. It’s a bit different than what I’m used to from where I come from.”
