Earlier, NASCAR driver Cody Ware revealed that he got involved in a motorsport argument on social media. Apparently, he happened to come across a video on TikTok. This particular video was trying to preach the superiority of Formula One over other forms of motorsport. He even mentioned 2007 F1 champion Kimi Raikkonen, who thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Ware clearly did not agree with the sentiment and tried to argue his case. He said, “I commented on an F1 TikTok that was bashing other forms of racing by saying all forms of racing are good just have different disciplines and crafts. Proceeded to get told to ‘go drive in a circle’.

What did fans say about Kimi Raikkonen and the F1-NASCAR debate?
Of course, many NASCAR fans were furious at the casual dismissal of NASCAR as an entertaining sport. They noted that Raikkonen said that he had a lot of fun racing at Watkins Glen.
According to the Finn, it was ‘real racing’, and fans were pretty gleeful at the dig at Formula One. Some also acknowledged that racing at ovals is easier said than done and all forms of racing deserve respect.

F1 will always have my heart but my dad is a Nascar guy, he opened my eyes on how truly hard oval racing is. If its a super speedway, short oval,or my fav.Road Courses, each type is its own discipline and deserves respect. I hope Kimi does more Nascar. Kimi and Seb, my favs!

A few NASCAR fans also cast their minds back to when F1 fans were angry with Christian Lundgaard. This was because the Dane believed that a driver of Sebastian Vettel’s caliber would struggle in IndyCar.
Finally, people began to joke about whether Cody Ware would be driving in circles again and he admitted that he did not know who hurt any F1 fans.

Coming back to Kimi Raikkonen though, he enjoyed a relatively decent outing at Watkins Glen International. This was in spite of his race ending early when he got caught up in a wreck, triggered by teammate Ross Chastain.
