Bubba Wallace Sheds Light on His Fatal “Mistake” That Kicked Michael Jordan & Denny Hamlin Out of NASCAR Owner Playoffs at the ROVAL

Quietly but surely, Bubba Wallace finished in an impressive P7 at the ROVAL. The 23XI Racing driver failed to qualify for the playoffs after the regular season, but ever since responsibility was put on his shoulder to fight for the owner’s points in the #45 instead of the #23, he has improved.

And ROVAL was just another step in his improvement as a racecar driver on a bigger level this season, but one which came at the expense of his team.

Speaking about his P7 result, Wallace was quite content with his result as well as his mistakes, and what could’ve been.

“P7 here at ROVAL, car is somewhat in one piece. I made a mistake early on, that really set us back and we’re fighting hard for the owner’s deal and took ourselves out of good points,” he said.

“All in all, to come out of here with a top 10 is good, should just keep on building on the road course experience…four to go.”

Bubba Wallace is growing his craft one race at a time

In an interview post his race win at Kansas a few weeks ago, Bubba Wallace addressed how he’s going and growing in the right direction, how he’s changing the notion of him being just a superspeedway racer to being a more holistic racer.

“We’ve talked about when we go to the speedways and kind of not so much the rest of the tracks,” Wallace said. “So, I wanna start changing that. We’ve been able to show up these last two months or so, all different types of race tracks, and be talked about. That’s cool. It’s a step in the right direction, we just can’t get complacent.”

Wallace claimed that the current season has been his “best season ever” in terms of finding consistency in the racecar.

“Look how we’ve been running. It all starts with self. If you don’t show up with confidence, then you’re not going to run very good, so you definitely have to show up with that,” he added.
