Just as it was last season, Danica Patrick, being a commentator and an analyst in the FOX booth, is not going well with the NASCAR fans. But if FOX listens to Freddie Kraft, the spotter of Bubba Wallace, there might be a role in which Patrick could not only fit in but excel, which could help in minimizing the outrage against her.

In a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, a fan complained about Danica Patrick not only being a bad analyst but also about making mistakes that cannot be expected from someone in that booth.

“You mean to tell me, that FOX can’t find someone better than Danica Patrick to be the third person commentating? I’m sorry, but she spent a whole segment of the race talking like the track was in the old configuration,” the fan complained. “I’m so thankful they’re getting (Kevin) Harvick next year because at least he’ll talk about it in the correct configuration.”

Spotter of Bubba Wallace proposes a new role for Danica Patrick at FOX

Reacting to the fan’s complaint about Danica Patrick’s performance in the FOX booth at Phoenix, the spotter of Bubba Wallace, pointed towards her role in the INDY500 and how the same role could be something in which she excels in NASCAR.

“I remember seeing Danica do…like she was hosting, doing interviews pre-race at the Indy500. I thought she really excelled at that, because she has a connection with these drivers, she’s obviously very personable and she’s been in their position before whether it’s an IndyCar or a Cup car,” Kraft said.

“Have her sit down and talk to these guys before the race, and they can relate on, they can talk about what they’re looking forward to that day. I think she can excel in that role more so than maybe she is doing as an analyst or a commentator in the booth.”

Who is replacing Danica Patrick in the FOX booth in Atlanta?

Continuing their policy as last season, FOX is staying with two fixed analysts in Mike Joy and Clint Bowyer, and a rotating third one. So after Patrick’s two-race stint in the booth at Vegas and Phoenix comes to an end, it’s going to be Tony Stewart who replaces her for Atlanta.

It’s worth mentioning that from next season Kevin Harvick would be joining the FOX booth full-time, so perhaps this 2+1 policy could be in its final season.

With that said, are you a fan of a rotating analyst or do you prefer a fixed group of analysts for the entire first half of the season?
