Bubba Wallace’s Spotter Outlines the Strategy for the Penalty-Stricken Brad Keselowski to Reach 2022 NASCAR Playoffs

One direct effect of Brad Keselowski and his No.6 Roush Fenway Keselowski team being hit by the already infamous penalty is the immediate and radical change the driver-owner must’ve had to make to his approach to every weekend. This is all the more important considering his ambitions, which, despite the nature of the penalty, haven’t really taken a hit.

Regardless, Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft, recently spoke about Keselowski’s penalty and how it must change his approach to his goals now.

“Brad (Keselowski) is in a must-win situation now, in my book you know. He’s too far back and too many guys, he’s over a 100 points out already, and there’s 20 guys between him and the cutoff line now,” Kraft said in a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast. “I mean, there’s Cody Ware, BJ McLeod, David Ragan’s run two races, he’s ahead of Brad in points right now. That’s how stiff this penalty is.”

“If we see this trend continuing, there may not be a position in the playoffs for a guy that points his way in. You know, we’re six winner in already now, there might not be available spots for guys to point their way in anyway,” he continued.

“So he’s gonna have to win a race, I think.”

Brad Keselowski is looking to look and move forward

Ahead of last weekend’s race in Austin, which was also the first time Brad Keselowski went out on track after NASCAR announced his penalty, he described what his reaction to it was, and how he’s going to approach what’s ahead of him now.

“I guess I don’t think that way. I don’t think in terms of surprised or not surprised,” Keselowski said. “Just try to move forward here.”

Now, irrespective of what Freddie Kraft says, what approach Brad Keselowski takes, or anything his fans believe in, the reality is that chances of Keselowski making the cut are grim.

Unless he wins an absurd amount of races from this point on, his season is more or less, over.
