Darrell Waltrip’s Buick Regal replica is more special than one might think

For those unaware, the Regal was made as a tribute to Waltrip’s #11 Mountain Dew race-winning machine. There’s a lot to be excited about under the hood, with the car boasting a naturally aspirated 350 cubic-inch V8. On top of that, the car has gone through some upgrades and boasts an upgraded Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock aluminum intake, and new headers.

All the fun doesn’t stop there, though, because the gearbox controls a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Furthermore, the 1981 car features power steering and power brakes, with discs up front and drums in the rear. The car’s sound is bound to get some heads turned too, thanks to a pair of side-exit exhaust pipes mounted below the driver’s side door. There is no shortage of attributes to get the enthusiasts lined up.

The car itself is quite the workhorse. However, the thing that begs the most attention is still the exterior of the car, which carries the glorious appeal of Waltrip’s machine that was no stranger to the victory lane.
