Age is just a number in the world of NASCAR. Let not the gray hairs and the wrinkles on the corners of the eyes be the deceiving factors for the drivers. Those are not the signs of old age but the imprints of experience racing on hostile tracks and navigating their way to the victory lane.
However, while these words may sound hyperbolic in nature and far-fetched, they reflect the overzealous nature of the sport. Nevertheless, the question that arises at this juncture is whether one can defy the laws of nature and champion the growing burden of age on the physical self. Well, this NASCAR insider doesn’t seem to be convinced by the fact and believes that one needs to slow down with growing age, especially for drivers like Kevin Harvick.

NASCAR Insider does not fail to deliver a controversial statement on his Twitter account
The lines “Old age should burn and rave at the close of the day” by Dylan Thomas have remained pertinent throughout the eons, and the world of NASCAR is no exception. The history of NASCAR is replete with instances where drivers who are way over their prime take their seats behind the wheel and deliver a nail-biting performance.
To state an example, Morgan Shepherd is one such driver who raced in his 70s before finally bidding adieu in 2019. Given the fact that the 40s don’t seem to fit the mold of old age, they pursue a plethora of physical pursuits, including racing. However, this controversial NASCAR insider would love to reckon that the 40s and the 50s are signs of senility.
After being mired in controversies regarding his claims on Chicago street racing, Kaulig Racing spotter Brett Griffin expressed his views on Kevin Harvick entering his declining years, and how racing can be detrimental to his health. In his post on Twitter, Griffin wrote, “Kevin Harvick is old.”
Kevin Harvick is old.
He’s one year younger than me and that’s old. That’s old to be going 200mph, hitting shit at 200 mph and have kids you wanna tuck in at night.
He’s a badass. But he’s too old and too rich for all the dumb shit and risk.
