And with the team looking to make the most of the new season, only recently, Tony Stewart addressed his entire team to present an enticing proposition; “If we go kick their as**es at the Daytona 500, I promise I’ll throw you a hell of a party when we get back here, so, looking forward to it.”

So while the pressure is on SHR’s crew as well as its drivers to perform, Chase Briscoe’s recent shenanigans with his father might just end up with SHR’s most experienced driver from its 2024 lineup getting his rear-end handed to him instead. While the prank was all fun and games, Briscoe apologised as he stated, Sorry Dad.His father certainly got the scare of his life, prompting Dale Earnhardt Jr to sympathise while Bubba Wallace couldn’t contain his laughter!

Chase Briscoe’s prank on his father might have gone too far

Taking to X, Briscoe shared a hilarious video in which he sat down with his wife, Marissa Cooper, to play a seemingly harmless prank on his father. The act began with Briscoe covering his ears with noise-cancelling headphones, while Cooper tried her best to enact what the SHR driver’s father was saying on the phone. Immediately, the initial confusion began to show how funny this ordeal was going to be!

As Cooper tried to advise Chase Briscoe to say hello as soon as his father picked up, the 29-year-old himself couldn’t hear what she was saying, proving this setup would work wonders. And so the two waited in anticipation as Briscoe rang his father. A voice-over phone soon chimes back with, “Hello”, as Briscoe safely retorts, “Hi!” To avoid suspicion, Briscoe makes the first move and asks his father what he is up to, to which he gets a response only Cooper can hear; “I’m going to go to the chiropractor.”

Could there have been anything harder for Cooper to convey? Expectedly, Briscoe immediately begins to fumble as he misses out on what was actually said. But wait a minute. It wasn’t all over yet! He somehow manages to keep the conversation on track and shares, “My back’s been killing me.” And while this got a pass from the Briscoe patriarch, the 29-year-old’s luck began to run out.

You’re behaving really strange, are you okay?” To which Briscoe hilariously replies, “Are you alright?” and the two went back and forth like a moment right out of Rush Hour. His father asked once again, bubbling with concern, “are you okay? What are you doing?” And while Cooper frantically tries to get Briscoe to say he’s drinking, the 29-year-old instead shares, “I drank a coke earlier,” and this seemingly sent his father over the edge as he expressed, “You’re freaking me out!”

Soon enough, the joke was up, and just when we were about to witness Briscoe reveal the prank, the video ended abruptly!

Among the commenters, Bubba Wallace and Dale Earnhardt Jr perfectly represented both sides of the community. Bubba Wallace had a good laugh and shared, “Hahahaha. Gold!” while Junior seemed to pity Briscoe’s dad as he shared, “So messed up 😆” and while most of the fans took the joke lightly, Briscoe’s mother turned the tables on the 29-year-old as she added to the banter; “Getting a laugh at Dad’s expense. 🤪 You’re grounded!”

In the video, Briscoe’s father immediately became concerned for his grandson after hearing the way his son was behaving. And fans couldn’t help but adore that moment. A user shared, “I love how he asked about Brooks in case he needed to come rescue him from whatever craziness you were caught up in. This was hilarious 😆,” while another exclaimed, “Always good to hear your dad’s voice, just not sure how well he took this one! 🤣🤣🤣”

It’s safe to say not a single word Briscoe said during the prank wasn’t funny to the community. A user also pulled the Coke Racing Family into the joke as they shared, “‘I drank a Coke earlier’ ONCE AGAIN ASKING COCA-COLA TO PUT CHASE IN THE COKE RACING FAMILY COME ON GUYS.” Jokes aside, seeing his father’s reaction, many fans felt Briscoe was about to face his father’s wrath.
