With Kyle Busch being announced as the driver for Richard Childress Racing’s #8 team next year, Tyler Reddick’s position is still in doubt. But Dale Earnhardt Jr. thinks there will never actually be the third charter because they probably have other plans.

This could all be nothing more than a cover to get 23XI to buy him before 2024.

According to RCR’s statement, Busch will replace Reddick in the no.8 team next year. And for the current driver, they mentioned they will run the 3rd team for 2023 because Tyler’s contract with the team goes through the next season. Of course, he will go to 23XI Racing after the 2023 season.

But that begs the question- will they even run a 3rd car? Charters are pretty expensive. Even if RCR has another charter, hiring a team for one driver just for one season will be expensive. Dale Jr. certainly questioned that too, as he believes the whole third charter thing is nothing more than a way to get a 23XI buyout ahead of 2024.

Junior said, “I still think the door’s still open for them to bring him to 23xI for a buyout.”

“They cannot have this press conference today, announce this with Kyle, and leave and say nothing. And they’re not gonna say ‘oh by the way Reddick’s going to 23XI’ and torpedo this announcement of Kyle.”

Denny Hamlin Chooses Violence in Dig at RCR’s Kyle Busch Announcement After Tyler Reddick Saga

Dale Jr. might be onto something, especially since they said Reddick’s car for 2023 is yet to be announced. Naturally, a team would normally prepare everything because they know that’s the first question in the minds of the media and the fans. But we can’t say anything for certain.

But do we have any more hints about Reddick going to 23XI?

Could Dale Earnhardt Jr. be right about Tyler Reddick going to 23XI after Kyle Busch joins?

Well, we might have a little more proof because as soon as Kyle announced his departure, his teammate tweeted about it. Yes, we’re talking about Denny Hamlin.

Hamlin is the co-owner of 23XI Racing, and the last line of his tweet is very curious.
