Dale Earnhardt Jr is a man of many talents. Having masterminded the revival of the iconic North Wilkesboro Speedway with his vision of it, he has made his affinity for race tracks with a cultural following clear. However, not many people know about his talent with clay. Revealing the same, Dale Jr flaunted a miniature version of the Bristol Motor Speedway on Twitter. The mini-Bristol oval was made by Junior in his 9th grade and shows his love for racing from an early age.

The Bristol Motor Speedway has given the fans a reason to rejoice already. Earlier this month, the speedway authorities announced the return of red-and-white striped walls to the track, with Bristol witnessing the classic look for the first time in 29 years. With Dale Earnhardt Jr’s miniature version of the track donning the same colors, NASCAR fans couldn’t help but praise his eye for detail.

Considering how Dale Jr values memorabilia from the past, it is no surprise that he has maintained his creation from the 9th grade in great shape. The 2-time Daytona 500 champion made the first reference to it in the latest episode of his podcast, The Dale Jr Download. Joined by his wife Amy, the JR Motorsports owner reminisced about the good old days of NASCAR racing at Bristol.

Revealing another talent of his to the world, Dale Earnhardt Jr claimed, “If you listened to “Dirty Air” DJD Tuesday with my wife Amy, you’ll know what this is a reference to. Many asked to see it. So here. 9th grade. Pottery for Art Class. Teacher said make a bowl. So of course I made the bowl we know as Bristol.”

The Bristol Motor Speedway hosts the Food City 500 on March 17. When NASCAR invited Brad Keselowski and Co. for a wet tire package testing session at the track, it also celebrated the return of its red and white walls by having the drivers paint the first strokes of red on the wall. With the dirt race removed from the schedule, it is a great idea for the track authorities to bring back the retro feel.

Watching Dale Earnhardt Jr sum up their emotions toward Bristol Motor Speedway through his art, NASCAR fans couldn’t help but appreciate the innocence and efforts behind the replica.
