They say that a dog is a man’s best friend. However, Dale Earnhardt Jr may want to contest that particular statement. This is because, his family used to own a family dog, one that he described as ‘mean as hell’. Coincidentally, the dog was fondly named ‘Killer’, and it seems that Dale Sr was quite taken with the pooch.

Honestly speaking, it isn’t uncommon for a former driver to decide to jump back into a NASCAR machine. However, it would be a bit of a stretch if Dale Jr were to return to the Cup Series. Instead, he will be more than willing to watch the current season and future seasons and comment on key moments. At the same time, he will be focused on managing the JR Motorsports Xfinity Series team.

One has to wonder though, will Dale Jr have some designs to expand JR Motorsports to enter the Truck or Cup Series? In all honesty, given that his Xfinity wards have been hugely successful, no one will blame him for dreaming big. However, the outfit is perfectly fine with maintaining their operations in the Xfinity Series and have no plans to explore other series as of now.
