Dale Earnhardt Jr. Reveals What Makes Him “Super Nervous” About the Future of NASCAR

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is iconic in NASCAR, especially for his media presence. However, he was a stock car racer before he build the media presence he’s known for today. And now, he shared something that concerns him about the sport that led him to build his vast legacy.

In a recent interview with The Athletic, Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed what makes him “Super Nervous” this season.

The four-time Daytona 500 winner said“I’m super nervous, not just about the very short-term future for the product on the racetrack at short tracks. What happens at Texas? What do they do with that track and all that?”

“Getting the car where it needs to be, which it’s pretty good at some racetracks. Learning where we can go with this tire and how aggressive we can be with the tire to let the cars have wear and fall-off and all the things you wanted out of a race car forever. And making sure it can provide a great visual experience at every type of track.”

His concerns come from the nature of Short Track racing as he explained it involves, “Very aggressive and hard bumping and grinding and all that good stuff.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Will Be Racing Again!

There is some great news for Dale Jr. fans. Of course, many people saw the video of the driver taking laps around the North Wilkesboro Speedway.

Fortunately, Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced that he will race on the newly renovated track in August in his Podcast.

He said, “We’re going to enter two cars on the 31st of August there’s a race. We’re going to enter two cars and I’m going to be driving one of them.”
