Joey Logano. might not come off as an intimidating person off-track. However, when it comes to chasing victories, he is a formidable opponent who won’t spare an inch for his on-track rival. Owing to this on-track reputation, the 2x Cup Series champion had once flaunted the crown for being one of the villains of NASCAR. However, it is apparent that the times have changed, as Logano has relinquished that title, which has been passed down to a new owner who needs no introduction. But amidst this new coronation of the new villain, Dale Earnhardt Jr seemed to have derived his share of merriment after taking a hilarious dig at the Team Penske driver.

Fans give Denny Hamlin a victory with 69.9% votes

Logano’s reputation as a ‘villainous’ driver has been built over the years, after his relentless efforts to win a race, even if it means shoving a fellow driver to the outside wall or the infield grass. It is not only his driving style that was detested by fans but also the physical brawls that he got involved in. Case in point, his altercation with Kyle Busch. Nevertheless, Logano has long stepped down from his post of being an antagonist on the track, and it is Denny Hamlin who is the new occupant of that seat. While it is the public opinion that asserts this, Dale Earnhardt Jr seems to have a different opinion.

The Daily Downforce created a public poll asking “Who is the top modern villain?” With the options being Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin, Ross Chastain, and Kyle Busch, the result of the poll was everything that every NASCAR fan could expect. With a landslide victory of 69.9%, Hamlin took the lead while Logano received only 12.6% of the votes. Witnessing this turn of events, Dale Jr decided to chime in with his opinion and asserted Logano’s dominance as the NASCAR antihero by sarcastically posting a GIF, where a person was seen taking a sigh of relief, equating it to Logano’s supposed reaction to the pole result. The former Cup Series driver also added the words, “Joey rn.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr’s post seemed to have provided a good laugh for the fans, as expected, as they joined in the opportunity and left their hilarious comments under the post.

While Hamlin and Logano’s reputations were understandable by the fans, what confused them was the presence of Ross Chastain in the poll list. A fan commented, “How is @RossChastain  even on this list? He’s the total opposite of a villain.”

However, others were hands-on when it came to bashing Hamlin and left Logano out of the commotion. A few of the fans stated, “Joey’s just an old school racer, not dirty but he will race someone the way they race him and I’m here for it..”

Another user wrote how Logano and Busch have had their time and come out of that villaneous era, while Hamlin seems to be basking in that limelight.“Joey had his time, as did Kyle, buy Denny is really leaning in to it,” the comment read.

The other fans did not stop from lashing out at Hamlin, with one fan writing, “Nobody likes Denny.” On the other hand, another user, while asserting that Denny Hamlin is and should be the clear winner of that title, wrote, “Come on Dale, it’s clearly @dennyhamlin.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr Furious With NASCAR’s Reluctance to Take the Blame After Being Outsmarted by Denny Hamlin

Albeit everything, both these drivers are great on their own terms. While Logano is a 2x Cup Series champion, Hamlin is still on the hunt. However, that does not undermine his veteran stature and who knows if all the stars are aligned, maybe the 2024 season proves to be lucky for Denny Hamlin! What do you think?
