Dale Earnhardt Jr Vehemently Calls Out NASCAR Bending on Its Knees Amidst Controversial Easter Sunday Decision

As Kevin Harvick’s crew chief had recently pointed out, having a race on Easter Sunday is something that hadn’t happened in a long, long time. But it’s happening now, and you can bet that not many in the NASCAR community are on board with this decision, including Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr.

In a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Dale Earnhardt Jr was asked for his thoughts on the fact that there is a race this Easter weekend. “I think we need Easter Sunday off. We need to be home with our families, hiding easter eggs in the yard with our kids,” he said. “Its tradition.”

The NASCAR Hall of Famer then went on to add that it’s NASCAR’s own fault that they find themselves in a position in which they have to listen to TV networks and bend to their demand. Because it is the networks that dictate everything, and as a result, everyone in the sport.

“I think TV runs the show, man. TV Networks decide when we’re racing, what time of day we’re racing. They pay NASCAR enough money that they have that authority,” Dale Jr. added. “NASCAR really has to be malleable and move and mold whichever direction the networks want to go.”

“They put themselves in that position when they accepted that giant check.”

In a recent episode of the Dale Jr. Download, Dale Earnhardt Jr listed the five tracks he wants on the calendar.

The JR Motorsports owner, if given an opportunity, would run twice at Bristol, run twice at a repaved Martinsville and Richmond, and bring back Nashville Fairgrounds.

As for the fifth one, Dale Jr. picked that he would run at Daytona twice.

Now, running twice at Daytona International Speedway is already on the calendar, but Dale Earnhardt Jr still picked the iconic racetrack in case “somebody changes that for no damn reason.”
