The late Dale Earnhardt has left his imprint all over NASCAR. The legendary seven-time champion is one of the best ever to do it in a stock car and is revered in the sport. Carrying forward his legacy are big boots to fill. But Dale Earnhardt Jr has managed to do it perfectly. With two Xfinity championships and multiple post-retirement ventures, Junior continues to do what he does best. Earnhardt’s elder son, Kerry Earnhardt, from his first marriage, is a name many of you might not be familiar with. A former NASCAR driver himself, Kerry has been in the news for a heart-touching ode to his late father on Father’s Day.

Kerry Earnhardt Pays His Tribute to the Late Dale Earnhardt

In an Instagram post by Local Patriot Roasting Company on the occasion of Father’s Day, Kerry gets emotional talking about his father.

The former Dale Earnhardt Inc. consultant is seen saying, “Hey dad, just wanted to stop by and chat a minute. Had a pretty month of April. Really cool All-Star race came to North Wilkesboro and raced back on that track in NASCAR again. That was pretty neat.”

“But we had an event here in Downtown Kannapolis. It was Earnhardt Outdoor Showdown Day and it was really cool, brought some legendary cars in here and raced on the streets of Kannapolis and a huge turnout, so it was pretty special. It was a pretty neat event; pretty sure you and everyone up there who would do it would’ve enjoyed it. Anyway, just wanted to stop by and wish you Happy Father’s Day. Love you and miss you man”

The heart-touching message also included news about the Earnhardt Outdoors street race. The first edition of the memorial race was organized on 25th May. Not just that, it was graced by stars, including Kevin Harvick and Austin Hall as well. With a host of activities, including races and live music, one of the attractions was meet and greet with Kerry after the race. The initiative will take place annually in the streets of Kannapolis. Kannapolis is set to be another spot for racing followers after North Wilkesboro in North Carolina.

Fans Send Their Prayers and Wishes After Getting Emotional About Earnhardt’s Tribute

The teary tribute by Kerry was well received by the fandom. With the respect that the fans have for the Earnhardts, wishes came pouring in. One of the fans chose to say what everyone feels about the situation, “We all miss him” were his words as he consoled Kerry.

“Gone way too soon. Happy Father’s Day brother”

“Happy Father’s Day to you and dad,” were some of the messages on the post.

“Happy fathers day to the legend in heaven, Happy fathers day to you as well ,” was another heartfelt comment on the post.

Kerry has been vocal in letting others know about his affection for the big man. Following the separation, Kerry followed in the footsteps of his father, as did Dale Jr. Certainly a great addition to the industry. This shows how well the two sons of the legend have grown up to be. Dale Jr and Kerry although in their own different ways, continue to keep moving on the path of Earnhardt.
