Danica Patrick Once Made Shocking Admission on Performance Enhancement Drugs – ‘Not Cheating If Nobody Finds Out’

Sports is all about an athlete’s performance on the match day. And it is true for any sport, be it football, basketball, or racing. A quick and easy way to enhance the performance is the dream of every athlete. However, who knew that Danica Patrick was in search of finding this grey area surrounding performance-enhancing drugs in NASCAR races?

During one of her interviews, Danica Patrick admitted that she would take performance-enhancing drugs if they could help her win races. The interviewer, Dan Patrick asked the Xfinity driver if she would take performance-enhancing drugs if she could not get caught.

As a response to this, the then 27-year-old Danica said; “Well, then it’s not cheating, is it? If nobody finds out?” Surprised by her answer, the interviewer asked if she would really do that. To which, Danica Patrick replied;

“Yeah, it would be like finding a gray area. In motorsports, we work in the gray areas a lot. You’re trying to find where the holes are in the rule book.”

Apart from her curiosity about finding grey areas in motorsports, Danica Patrick opened up about her love for tattoos. She also discussed the meaning of what she had inked on her body.

During the interview, Dan Patrick asked the Xfinity driver about her tattoo and what exactly made her do that. To this, Danica replied that she is very passionate and kind of a ‘fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants’ person. Furthermore, she shared that she loves the idea of being committed to something throughout life.

She revealed; “I like the idea that you can believe in something so much that you are willing to have that on your body for the rest of your life. And that you’re committed enough.”

However, the then 27-year-old Patrick shared that she only has one tattoo. Explaining that her tattoo does not explicitly say anything, she shared; ” It’s an American flag and a checkered flag.”

Moreover, she said that she got it when she was 19 years old. And added that she got some angel wings and yellow stars around it as it alludes to the meaning of Danica which means “morning star.”
