Coca-Cola is an essential partner of NASCAR. Having been associated with stock car racing for over five decades, Coca-Cola became NASCAR’s official beverage partner in 1998. It initiated the “Chug for a Cause” plan in 2002, and began with the company offering NASCAR drivers various unique prizes or incentives in return for endorsing the drink. Coca-Cola Racing Family drivers earned special benefits through the initiative as well.

Additionally, the company-affiliated drivers received points that were relative to a driver’s chugs. Being a part of the family, Daniel Suarez earned a donation to his preferred charity. Revealing his contribution, Daniel Suarez tweeted, “I am so thankful to be in a position where I can make a difference in the lives of many animals. Today we donated 44k to @humanecharlotte thanks to @CocaColaRacing’s #ChugForACause program. We’ve donated almost $200,000 in 4 years and I’m excited to do much more in the future.

Apart from being one of the foreign drivers in the Cup Series, his love for animals also makes him one of the most likable drivers in NASCAR. Currently, he pets two cats and a dog who cheer him up during his days away from the racetrack.

Suarez and his fiancee, Julia Piquet, have adopted both of their cats from the Humane Society animal shelter. In 2022, after a year of adopting their first cat, Nicky, Daniel Suarez donated $43,500 with Coca-Cola Racing as partners and adopted a second cat, Kuvira. Apart from these acts of charity, Suarez has also featured in a PETA advertisement that focused on the healthcare of pet dogs.

Expressing his love for animals, he said, “My whole life, I have been surrounded by animals. I have always loved and cared for them, no matter how big or how small. My father’s restoration shop in Mexico must have about 10 dogs there, all rescues from the street. I definitely grew up knowing that animals aren’t just animals; they’re just as much part of families as are moms, dads, brothers, or sisters.”

Kyle Busch and his cutthroat style of racing played an important role in getting me hooked to stock car racing as I hopped on streams to watch him win races.
