It is no secret how Bubba Wallace and his performances have divided opinions. However, if there’s someone who has constantly backed him, it’s his boss, Denny Hamlin. This season though, things haven’t looked quite well for Wallace. Nevertheless, that hasn’t changed what Hamlin thinks of him. In fact, given the 3x Daytona 500 winner’s latest statements, it only gets more assuring for the Alabama-born driver.

Denny Hamlin shows confidence in Bubba Wallace despite his struggles in the 2023 season so far
With four DNFs, one top-five, and two top-ten finishes in 11 races, it is safe to say Bubba Wallace hasn’t quite had the season he would like. In fact, things went extremely stressful for him when he crashed out very early in the Circuit of The Americas race this season.
Influenced by his early exit, Wallace demanded his owners replace him after the race. While neither Denny Hamlin nor Michael Jordan felt the need to do so, things are yet to turn around for the #23 driver. However, he’ll be happy to know Hamlin still strongly believes in him.
Speaking to the media personnel at the Kansas Speedway and as reported by Heavy.com, Hamlin spoke highly of Wallace. He said, “He’s better than I thought he was, I mean, that’s just the simple answer.”

Hamlin couldn’t help but express his pride in the way Wallace has progressed so far. He said, “Every racetrack that is an Achilles heel to him, he just keeps chipping away and finishing a few spots better each time he goes. So he’s really evolving as a driver, and I’m super proud of him.”
While Hamlin is all gaga about Wallace, 23XI Racing is also lucky to have Tyler Reddick in their ranks. In fact, Reddick’s influence has been quite helpful to the 29-year-old this season.
