In a sport with fierce racers that hold a history of drivers who would even wreck intentionally for a win, Richard Childress’ grandson’s underwhelming Cup Series career is certainly a black mark that makes fans frown. The 31-year-old’s time in NASCAR’s elite division was nothing but a far cry compared to his Truck Series run.

This eventually got him to drop down and return to the third-tier faction after getting nothing off of his time with Spire Motorsports, finishing a dismal 32nd in the rankings. However, Ty Dillon‘s rough time in the organization doesn’t mean that he is an awful driver, taking nothing away from his capabilities as a racer. In fact, a recent tweet by NASCAR’s stat guy revealed Dillon’s incredible achievement, which is the cornerstone of his longevity.

He might have had an awful fallout to his 2023 Cup Series campaign, finishing 32nd with zeroes all across the win, top-10, top-5, and poles with just 11 laps led, but Richard Childress‘ youngest grandson, Ty Dillon, has made history, accomplishing a feat no other driver in the history of the sport has. Even though his Cup Series campaign was nowhere near his Truck Series venture, where the driver picked up three of his career wins, his wealth of experience in NASCAR’s top-tier division is always an added advantage.

Trey Ryan, NASCAR’s stat guy recently shared fascinating numbers on his social media, indicating Dillon’s capability, and showing to the world that he is more than just a guy born with the silver spoon. The enthusiast put out the word that Dillon is the only driver in NASCAR history to finish every race in a season in all of NASCAR’s top three series.

The tweet read, “Ty Dillon is the only driver in NASCAR history to finish every race in a season in ALL of NASCAR’s top 3 series (Cup, Xfinity, and Truck) Cup Series (2019), Xfinity Series (2015) Truck Series (2012).” It was in 2012 that the driver snagged his first Truck Series victory at Atlanta.

After a rather tough time, trying to find his rhythm in the Cup Series Ty Dillon is returning to the Truck Series for 2024. He last competed in the faction back in 2013 where he finished a career-best second place in the rankings. And now after six seasons in the elite division, Dillon is going back to his realm, hoping to emulate the earlier success that he found and return to his winning ways.

The 31-year-old signed with Rackley W.A.R. to pilot its #25 Chevy Silverado, eyeing a massive turnaround in his career and to get back on the groove. According to Sportnaut.com, the driver got real about his move down to the Truck Series. Ty Dillon said, “It’s been a while since I’ve competed in the Truck Series but I was very successful there. So for me, at this stage of my career, I want to get back to winning races and battling for championships and getting that confidence back.”

A team press release also highlighted Dillon’s desire and driver to get back on form. “I’m excited to go back to the Truck Series and compete in the series that got it all started for me. I have a lot of good memories from earlier in my career with winning races and poles, and our goal is to create more this season,” said Ty Dillon.
