Recently, Trackhouse Racing co-owner Justin Marks spoke on a fair number of subjects. Among them, he opened up on his relationship with Chip Ganassi and his team. This is largely because the Pitbull co-owned outfit has bought over the Chip Ganassi Racing team.

Marks said, “Chip was the first and last person, and the only person that I called because I have a relationship with him. I like him a lot, I’ve raced for that team and I know a lot of the great people that work there. Have a lot of respect for what they do and I called Chip. I said, ‘Okay, look… I have to start thinking about the future of the Trackhouse brand. Start thinking about the future of Trackhouse in the sport. If you’re willing to have an adult conversation about the future of your team. Seeing that there is a way for us to work together, let’s have that conversation’.”

When they met later on, they did not talk about any deals or open negotiations. Instead, the two parties talked about the future of NASCAR and what it means for them. Now, the Trackhouse Racing team will be looking forward to the 2022 season. They know that the new Next Gen cars can be unpredictable in terms of deciding the pecking order.

Last year, the team and Daniel Suarez enjoyed a reasonably decent maiden season. The Mexican driver ended the year with a 25th place finish, with a best result of 4th at the Bristol Motor Speedway dirt track. Aside from that, he has enjoyed three Top 10 finishes at Dover, New Hampshire and at the Charlotte Roval. In the process, he amassed 634 points, which is a good building block for the fledgling team. With this, Suarez and Trackhouse Racing can build on their form for 2022.
