Being a car enthusiast, imagine yourself inside a garage with a plethora of exotic cars and getting to see every one of them, from the inside. Sounds too good to be true? Well, wait until we tell you that Hailie Deegan did that and more as she was over the moon for the Ford GT40.

To beat the off-season blues, Deegan took a trip with her friend to a car connoisseur’s lair, where she got the opportunity to take her dream car out for a ride. As it was her first time in a supercar like this, her experience was nothing short of extraordinary.

Few people get the chance to see their ultimate wheels up close. But Hailie Deegan was not going to miss out on her chance. After briefing her about the car, Vinny, the owner of the garage, grabbed the steering wheel and took Deegan for a spin. The moment he pressed hard on the gas, the punchy GT40 engine kicked in, leaving her shocked as she shrieked, “Oh my god! Wow!” But the thrill was far from over as it was her turn to drive the vintage beauty.

Before starting the car, Deegan felt a bit confused with the workings of the gears. The car’s shifting system was so traditional that even a racing prodigy like her couldn’t figure out how it worked but Vinny stepped in to explain. Nevertheless, Deegan quickly got hold of the process. 

What Deegan didn’t expect was a traditional no-power steering wheel. Within no time of trying the GT40 out, she drew parallels between the American-made muscle and motorsports, saying, “The no-power steering is gnarly! I don’t drive anything without a power steering. Everything in racing is power steering.”

The adrenaline-filled ride left such a mark that she even pitched the idea of taking it to a racetrack and expressed her desire by saying, “It would be hard for me not to take it to the track every single week.“

“Dude, one of the coolest things I’ve ever done in my life! It was gnarly!” were Deegan’s initial words as soon as the car’s door opened. The feeling of joy was pretty much evident. Deegan continued as she candidly opened up about her first time in the supercar and expressed, “I didn’t know what to expect when he [Vinny] first went because I’m like god, I don’t know, like, you just don’t know. Like I’ve never been in one of these cars before, no.”

She then unfurled the feeling of adrenaline that kicked in when Vinny pushed hard on the pedal and revealed, “The first time he went, I was, like, I cried like holy s**t.”
