Everyone is familiar with the story of Dale Earnhardt but not many people know the real Dale behind the 7 Cup Series championships. People loved and admired him in an era when the internet hadn’t exactly taken off and there were no social media, so insight into someone’s personal life was not as accessible. Now, two decades after his passing, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Intimidator’s son has taken on the responsibility of bringing forth the man behind the helmet to his fans and admirers.

Despite being primarily a NASCAR-centric podcast, Dale Jr Download has witnessed individuals from a number of different vocations. Recently, he sat down with WWE superstar Cody Rhodes, who doesn’t belong to NASCAR but was a confidante of his father, and someone who knew Dale Earnhart inside out. Similarly, this time Junior had his father’s Maiden-based pal who is the two-time Bassmaster Classic tournament winner.

The man behind ‘The Intimidator’ moniker

There were only a few people in front of whom the Intimidator really felt comfortable speaking freely about whatever he was feeling, and Hank Parker was one of them. The professional fisherman revealed that Earnhardt had also received the uncalled-for reputation of being short-tempered from people who had no idea what he was really like.

“He was very private, very very private. It was a rare occasion that he would open up and you really see who he is. He got The Intimidator because he was an introvert.
