There have been many examples of women taking up the steering wheel in NASCAR. However, the stereotypes have continued to exist over the years. Hailie Deegan is not an exception as she has often faced uncalled-for criticism from the fandom. Seemingly unflustered by it all, she shared her recent off-road vehicle adventure with the world on Instagram and flaunted her new look with an off-road 4×4 vehicle. This happened but not without online persecution.

While Deegan was looking merely to spread some smiles among the online users, the commenters have not taken a liking to her and claimed that her smile was one of the benefits of her privileged life.

Hailie Deegan: Stock car driver borne out of off-road stints

Hailie Deegan has established herself as a leading figure in the motorsports industry thanks to her talent and tenacity. In the realm of motorsports, Hailie Deegan rose to notoriety by taking part in off-road racing competitions. She began her career as a racer in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, where she found great success. She was the first female racer to win the Modified Kart class title in 2016.

Keeping up the same enthusiasm for off-track racing, her post showed off the magnificent vehicle. As a product borne out of a partnership between motor vehicle company Can-Am Off Road, race applications company Method Race Wheels, and tire manufacturer General Tire, Hailie has been a big promoter of the off-road school of racing.

While Deegan has since focused primarily on stock car racing, it seems her off-road background and experience continue to shape her racing style and contribute to her overall skill set as a driver.

“Especially when they are all free”: Netizens question Deegan’s innocent diversion to off-road

Deegan captioned the post, “Hard to not be smiling when driving a @canamoffroad 😉… @methodracewheels @general_tire.” Many of the comments that followed the post focused on the same topic, calling her out and misdirecting her smile toward her privileges.

“Especially for free,” said a fan teasing Deegan.

Another comment tried to question what would be the scenario in case she couldn’t make it work at NASCAR. The comment said, ” If NASCAR does not work out, is that your next adventure?” 

“How about concentrating on your truck career,” commented another fan criticizing her recent season in the Craftsman Truck Series and hinting at how she has been quite unsuccessful in her conquest to secure a win in the Truck Series. Sitting as far back as 28th on the point table, things have not gone quite her way.
