The legacy of the Earnhardt family in the NASCAR world has been woven across generations. Starting with the legendary National Motorsports Press Association and International Motorsports Hall of Famer, the late Ralph Earnhardt who started racing in the late 1940s, NASCAR has seen the contributions of his subsequent generations as well.

It appears as though racing runs in the Earnhardt family’s blood. After Ralph Earnhardt’s charm, Dale Earnhardt‘s charisma, and finally Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s achievements on the track, it appears like a new member of the family is in the running to continue the family legacy.

Recently, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s sister Kelley Earnhardt Miller gave a sneak peek into how a racing prodigy is in the making in the family.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s sister Kelley calls her son ‘an encyclopedia’ of racing

NASCAR is like a family sport for the Earnhardt family. And, this was once again confirmed by the daughter of the late Dale Earnhardt, Kelley Earnhardt Miller. Married to stock car racing driver L W Miller since 2011, Kelley is mother to fourth-generation racer, little Wyatt Miller. The young man has already made a name for himself in the racing world and can be expected to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor to take over the tracks!

Speaking at The Dale Jr Download podcast, Kelley told audiences about how her son amazes her with his knowledge of motorsports.

“He is non-stop on YouTube. I  always can hear him listening to old racing broadcasts – sprint car, NASCAR, motorsports. I mean, he, for the longest time, he was watching Dan Wheldon’s kids. I had no idea. Like, he was talking about their names, and I’m like, how do you know that? And he’s like, I watched them on YouTube, mom! So like, all these things that he does, I know as parents we are supposed to know everything our kids do, but yeah, he is like an encyclopedia sometimes,” Kelley said.

Kelley also talked about the time when Wyatt used to be really shy, but now he’s started to come into his element. “There was a time when he was super shy and even in interviews for his racing and stuff, he’s still, you know, a lil timid. He’s gotten a lot better, so I was excited to see that,” Kelley informed.

It appears that Wyatt has already taken up racing as a side hustle. The Earnhardt-Miller prodigy competes locally regularly and is also the 2021 Millbridge Speedway Beginner Box Champion. Wyatt said he’s been passionate about the sport since he was three or four years old and that he’s also referred to as a famous person by his peers. However, Wyatt seemed pretty sure that his fame came from somewhere other than his nascent racing career.

“My friend thinks I’m already famous. Because I’m an Earnhardt probably!” Wyatt quipped.

However, the young boy seems pretty badass on the track, and his fellow racers agree.

“Oh yeah, he’s kicking my b*tt every time I’m out here, man! Wyatt does a really good job, and I try to ask him stuff every time I see him. He helps me a lot,” said a fellow young driver.
