It was an “All is Fair In Love and War” moment for Paul Tracy when he made his appearance for the third season of Tony Stewart’s co-owned SRX Racing at Pulaski County Motorsports Park. However, it was not long before situations turned out to be awry for the driver, as the racing world turned against him, condemning Tracy’s on-track actions in Thursday’s race.

Moreover, it seems that the authorities have taken it in their stead to deal with the issue with complete stringency, as Tony Stewart and a former Hendrick Motorsports driver, had heaved their disappointment and pleaded for actions to be taken against the driver and create precedence.

On-track wrecks have been a quintessential part of the world of stock car racing, but more often than not, these incidents take a murkier turn and harbor bitterness among the drivers. The case in point is Thursday’s incident on the tracks of Monster Mile, which witnessed one of the most crash-filled races.

The incident occurred while the third race of the SRX Series was still underway and involved veteran drivers, including Marco Andretti, former HMS driver, and Paul Tracy, the initiator of the incident.

With just 10 laps to go, IndyCar winner Tracy tried to steer himself clear and try to outrun Josef Newgarden; however, things went awry as Tracy spun himself on the track and, in the process, collected other drivers in the incident. Moreover, it was Tracy himself, along with Schrader, who sustained the worst hit, as both cars were completely crumpled up.

This incident left Schrader completely furious as he lashed out at Paul Tracy, who had deliberately caused the incident. After exiting the car, the veteran HMS driver exclaimed, “Oh it took out three or four cars again. The same thing every week, that’s it.” He also stated, “I’m sure green (Tracy) had black (Newgarden) shoved into the outside wall. I’m not riding another race with (Tracy). I’m done.”

Owing to the horrific incident, the co-owner of the series and also a fellow driver in the race, Tony Stewart, was visibly disappointed in how the situation unfolded on the track. In the post-race interview, Stewart revealed, “Quit having the guys that are tearing cars up from coming back. So yeah, it’s uh, I haven’t seen any of the stuff, luckily it was all behind me, but it sounds like it’s the same cast of characters.”

Having said that, it seems that the words have fallen on the correct ears, as the authorities of the SRX Racing Series tried to undo the wrongs and dished out punishment to Paul Tracy.

Moreover, seizing the opportunity was the former racer, and nominated himself as a replacement for Tracy. He wrote, “I’m available @HawkSMI.”

The incident was certainly disconcerting, as it involved drivers who were innocent of the crash and sabotaged their races by collecting them and forcing them to end the race from the back of the field.
