The ambition and the thirst to realize one’s dreams is something that contributes to the betterment of humanity in some way or the other. It is just the leap of faith that one has to make and the rest falls into its place or, as Paulo Coelho said, “And when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

Even the NASCAR drivers are no exception to it. These drivers realize their dreams early and embark on the journey of fulfilling them. And Kyle Larson is someone who has been able to do so.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver is surely one of a kind. He has already tasted the fruits of ultimate success in NASCAR by winning the 2021 Cup Series at a young age. However, the path to Cup Series was an arduous one, as the HMS driver revealed in the first episode of FloRacing’s YouTube series, DIRT.

In a candid way, Larson revealed, “I can’t wait to get into a racing car and put my helmet on and like get away from talking to people as much as I like spending time around racing fans and stuff. I can’t wait to get into the car just to focus and just to get like this calming quietness.”

The driver begins by saying, “I am Kyle Larson and I drive race cars for a living.”

He continues, “So I was 14 when I started racing sprint cars in Northern California. I split my time between Indiana and California. In 2011 following the USAC tour full time, once the summer hit my season took off.”

Delving deeper into the career of Kyle Larson, his father Mike Larson recounts the early days of the driver, “5 or 6 weeks into it, I had some of the top drivers coming up to me saying, ‘I’ve never seen car control like this. It’s amazing. You know this kid is 14 years old. Where did he get this.'”

Larson adds, “It seemed like I won every big race that year.”

Mike Larson recapitulates, “At Eldora, first time there to race and he wins all three events.” Even the 2021 Cup Series champion exclaims, “My sprint car and silver crown that night was my career kind of exploded.”

Kyle Larson’s father also spilled the beans on his son’s dream of being a NASCAR driver. He disclosed, “You know he was 10 or 11 years old. I made a comment about you want to make it to NASCAR and he said, ‘I’m gonna make it to NASCAR.’

I’m sure there are some things I could have done differently on that restart, like he was telling me.”

In an interview after Larson won the Cup championship, Gordon announced, “I don’t think anybody’s going to disagree with me when I say this statement. Modern-day Mario Andretti, right here. One of the most talented race car drivers ever to sit at the wheel of a race car and not just one type of race car. The guy can sit behind anything.”
