What makes NASCAR unique? Is it the drivers, the drama, or the thrill of seeing stock cars going full speed round and round in the oval? Well, if you ask us, it’s about experiencing all of it altogether! The sport of stock car racing is unique on its own, and it definitely has some character to it, but beyond that, it’s the drivers and their distinctive personalities that sets the sport apart from the rest.

The Watermelon Man Ross Chastain talks about other fruits!

In a recent Instagram post uploaded by AdventHealth, Ross opened up. When asked, “What would your victory celebration look like if you were a peach farmer?”

Ross replied, “Yeah, I’ve, I’ve thought about this, so the, the thing that makes the watermelon smash so cool is how massive watermelons are, right?”

He continued, “Although I love a good peach, I don’t think the smash would be the thing. We’d have to do something different and I don’t know what that would be.”

The Florida native who grew watermelons on his family farm before coming into the NASCAR scene also said, “The watermelon smash just came as a natural thing, to throw it on the ground and just see it explode and I don’t know I’d have to ask somebody smarter than me to tell me what to do if I was a multi-generation peach farmer.”

2022 was the year that Ross earned his fierce reputation on the track. The eighth-generation watermelon farmer from Alva put on an incredible show that year to win 2 major races to advance into championship four. Also, 2022 witnessed something never seen before in oval racing.

Ross, in a desperate position in the race, needed a gambit to advance into the championship and he did more than that.
