It is no surprise that racing is a high-risk profession. Drivers risk their lives the second they sit in the 200 mph cars and head out for a three-and-a-half-hour race. Therefore, drivers have gotten into some very horrific accidents throughout the years and, fortunately, have also walked away unscratched. A similar thing happened to Jimmie Johnson.

The seven-time Cup Series Champion was also involved in a scary accident. This Happened during the Xfinity race at Watkins Glen International in 2000. The driver posted a tweet recalling the incident.

Fascinatingly, Jimmie felt it was over for him when he labeled it, “The very few times in a racecar I thought it was over.”

The driver then describes one of his scariest crashes, “Brakes went to the floor. I’m bouncing through the grass, and I saw the wall. I thought it was a concrete wall, and thought that was it.”

And, I just got caught up in the emotion I was like ‘Yeah I am Alive’ so I found myself on the hood with my arms above my head celebrating too.”
