NASCAR will be turning 75 in 2023. In these 75 years, there have been a lot of changes. Some were loved by fans, others weren’t. Fans continuously lobby for a rollback of the changes that they don’t like. But it is seldom that they are successful.

Some changes, like the overhaul of the Clash at the Coliseum, are completely and unanimously detested by fans. However, in all likelihood, these are changes that fans will have to make do with. But there are certain changes that fans might have a little bit of control over. Kenny Wallace, the NASCAR veteran, proposed a rollback to the olden days on his Twitter account.

He asked fans, “How many people would like to see some sort of ‘NASCAR Raceday revival’? We would do a show with the great @NASCAR race car drivers, and also bring back every single SPEED TV person during the show?”

He also mentioned how a pilot project was undertaken by Wallace and his team at St. Louis. It ended up being quite a success, as per Wallace. “We tested bringing back. “NASCAR RACEDAY” last year in St.Louis. It could happen again at some more  @NASCAR tracks. Executives were SHOCKED and so was I.”

The experiment at St. Louis and the feedback Wallace has received from fans must provide great confidence. Will the media guys think of bringing this relic back?

NASCAR fans let Wallace in on their opinion

Wallace opened the floor up for fans to express their opinion on the move. If there were any doubts with regard to how successful such a step would be, the responses definitely allayed them all.

NASCAR events have become very different from how they used to be conducted earlier. The interaction between fans and drivers has slowly and gradually decreased. A return of the Raceday feature would bring back some of that fun.
